Welcome
A healthy smile that carries you through life.
A beautiful smile is more than just straight teeth — it is part of your quality of life. For more than 20 years, our practice has cared not only about how your teeth look but also about the long-term health of your jaw and teeth. With many years of experience, modern technology and genuinely personal care, we support children, teenagers and adults on the way to healthy teeth and a natural, confident smile.
Why you are in good hands with us
Personal care from start to finish
In our practice, you will not see a different orthodontist each time: Dr Seyfang looks after every patient personally. She knows every treatment and how it is progressing, and takes time to answer every question.
Dental health at the centre
Correcting teeth is not just about appearance. Misaligned teeth can make tooth decay, gum problems, jaw problems or headaches more likely. Our aim in treatment is to protect the long-term health of your teeth.
Gentle methods that fit into everyday life
Whether clear aligners, a fixed brace or a lingual brace: every treatment is chosen individually and adjusted so that it works where it should, without restricting your everyday life too much.
Modern technology for precision and comfort
Digital scans and 3D planning let us see exactly what your teeth need — without unpleasant impression material and without triggering the gag reflex.
A practice with more than 20 years of experience
Patients have trusted us for more than two decades. This long experience, combined with regular further training and a practice we keep up to date, means that our treatment reflects current medical knowledge — personal, precise and with the long term in mind.
Your orthodontist
Dr. med. dent. Bita Seyfang
As a specialist in orthodontics (German title: Fachzahnärztin für Kieferorthopädie), I have been treating patients of all ages at my practice in Weinsberg for more than 20 years.
It matters to me to combine specialist medical knowledge with three goals: function, aesthetics and long-term dental health. Whether it is early treatment, orthodontics for adults or a complex misalignment: my standard is that every treatment is of high quality, makes medical sense and looks good too. After all, straight teeth are easier to keep healthy.
I treat every patient personally — from the first consultation to the end of treatment.

Treatments
What we focus on.
01 — New since 2021
Digital planning. A scan instead of a mould.
The intraoral scanner replaces the conventional mould: more precise, quicker — and it does not trigger the gag reflex. Results are planned digitally and discussed with you.

SOS — Emergencies
If something rubs, stay calm.
Something rubbing or poking?
Cover the sore spot with the orthodontic wax from the care kit we gave you when your fixed brace was fitted.
A wire is digging in?
As your teeth move, the end of a wire can dig into your cheek. You can carefully shorten it with nail clippers and then cover the spot with orthodontic wax.
A bracket has come off?
Usually not an emergency — but please book an appointment with us soon so that we can reattach it.
Frequently asked questions
What patients often ask.
At what age should a child first see an orthodontist?
The timing depends on the change of teeth. A fixed brace usually starts at around ten years of age, when the second phase of the change from milk teeth to permanent teeth begins. We treat some problems, such as a crossbite, earlier, while the child still has milk teeth. A first appointment is therefore worthwhile at primary school age, or as soon as your regular dentist notices something.
Do you also treat adults?
Yes. We treat young children (early treatment), children and teenagers as well as adults — including aesthetic corrections and cases requiring jaw surgery, together with surgeons and hospitals.
What does health insurance pay for?
For children and teenagers under 18, statutory health insurance pays if the misalignment considerably affects chewing, biting, speaking or breathing (treatment need grades 3 to 5 of 5). During treatment, parents pay 20 per cent, or 10 per cent for each additional child treated at the same time; the insurer refunds this share once treatment has been completed as planned. Anyone aged 18 or over at the start of treatment pays for it themselves, except for severe jaw misalignments that also require surgery. With private health insurance, reimbursement depends on the policy.
How much do braces cost?
That depends on the findings and the type of brace. Before treatment starts, there is a written treatment plan; for patients with statutory health insurance, the insurer has to approve it. Extras such as tooth-coloured brackets are optional and are set out, with their price, in a separate written agreement. For medically necessary care, the treatment covered by statutory health insurance is sufficient as basic treatment.
Are there braces that are hard to see?
Yes, there are several options: clear aligners, tooth-coloured brackets and lingual braces, where the fixed brace sits on the inside of the teeth and cannot be seen from the outside.
They show what cannot be seen from the outside: the tooth roots, teeth that are still in the jaw or missing, and how the upper and lower jaws relate to each other. Planning usually requires two X-rays, with further ones when a medical question arises during treatment. Under the German Radiation Protection Act, every X-ray must be justified by a dentist. The dose is low: according to the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection, a skull X-ray is about 0.02 millisieverts, while natural radiation in Germany averages 2.1 millisieverts a year.
What is a digital intraoral scan?
A scanner records your teeth in three dimensions, replacing the conventional mould made with impression material. This is more precise and much quicker than a conventional mould, and it does not trigger the gag reflex. Digital scans have been standard in our practice since 2021.
How often are check-ups needed with a fixed brace?
Usually every four to eight weeks; with a removable brace or clear aligners, often less frequently. After active treatment, a retainer keeps the teeth in place.
Do you also treat snoring?
Yes. We make mandibular advancement devices for snoring. Dr Seyfang is a member of the DGZS (German Society of Dental Sleep Medicine).
Do I need a referral from my dentist?
No, appointments can be made with us directly. Statutory health insurance always pays for the first examination, whatever the patient’s age and however pronounced the misalignment.
Do I still need to see my regular dentist?
Yes. We provide orthodontic treatment only and do not offer general dental care. Please continue to see your regular dentist for a check-up twice a year.
